let's get to know each other

My name is Michele Olivier

I've been training in Dressage since a teenager, one of my first jobs was working at El Caballo Blanco and Notre Dame riding the Andalusian stallions under Jose Mendez. I then took a 30-year break from horses whilst I lived overseas. I've now returned to Dressage, competing at Prix St Georges & Inter 1. Competing at Sydney CDI and the Australian National Championships.
I am Equestrian Australia Level 1 Dressage coach and am training to be an EA Judge.

Ghostwood Riding School

Ghostwood offers a safe, fun and encouraging environment for children and adults to learn how to care and ride horses. We have a full-size INDOOR Dressage arena with soiltex surface.

Come and enjoy our parent's/adults viewing area at the arena, where you can sit and watch your child comfortably on a lounge.

Together we can achieve your riding goals.

We are different from others, we encourage you to become a skilled horse handler and rider. Its not just about riding, we will teach you so much more.

We teach, how to catch, halter, lead, groom, care, prepare for a show, rug, worm and ride (learn to walk, trot and canter). We also teach poles, grids, working equitation, dressage and show jumping.

If you have your own horse, we offer dressage and show jumping lessons and our arena has music so we can also help prepare you for a musical ride.

Liberty training is available (conditions apply).

Lets meet the team

My name is Amelie, and I am an EA General Coach with a diverse background in the equestrian industry. I have previously showjumped at 1.40m and am currently training dressage. My experience includes riding and training racehorses at Newcastle Racecourse, breaking in and pre-training of young horses (racehorses and warmbloods) in Singleton, retraining horses with behavioural difficulties in Maitland using evidence-based methods, and working as a reproductive technician assistant at Van Uytert Breeding Station in Heerewaarden, the Netherlands. I hold a Diploma in Equine Bodywork and Equine Biomechanics and am currently studying a Bachelor of Equine Science.

I believe horse riding should be enjoyed at all levels, with a love of horses and enjoyment of the sport at the foundation of everything we do. I view correct riding and biomechanics as the core of all disciplines, with horse wellbeing always at the forefront. I draw on my studies in evidence-based training and equine neuroscience to promote clear, correct use of aids and create a low-stress, positive learning environment for both horse and rider. My goal is to help riders improve while building harmonious partnerships and maintaining their enjoyment of the sport.

Hello! I’m Mariam from France, and I have over 13 years of experience coaching equestrian riders in both Australia and France.

As a certified equine physiotherapist and ethologist specialising in horse biomechanics, I aim to deepen your understanding of horses, helping you become a more proficient rider. I also place a strong emphasis on building confidence, ensuring that you feel comfortable and empowered in your riding journey.

In my lessons, the well-being of the horse is always the priority, and through this focus, you'll gain invaluable insights that go beyond just riding skills.
